Hi All,

This past weekend I got to make a "Under the Sea" birthday cake for a little boy who turned 1.  What a lovely brightly colored cake.  Filled with Fish, Sea Shells, and other sea creatures.  And topped with a Bright Lime Green Octopuss.  I totally loved making the Octopuss (Not as easy to do as you may think).  He spent almost 2 weeks drying!  Had to make sure he was dry as I was terrified one or more of his tenticles might break.

Hope you all like the cake.

Until next time
Have fun

Hi All,

A couple of weeks ago I did the cutest little Hello Kitty cake based on the same design done by "Cakes by Dusty"  who is based in Houstan Texas.
I totally loved doing this cake, and on the day that was so full of rain, this cake hopefully brightened up the party.

I also got to make the Rattle Pops again for a Baby Shower the same day (different client).

And last week I decided to try something a little different, and gave away a whole bunch of Cupcakes.  These were Chocolate Cupcakes with Barone Pieces in them frosted in a Soft Caramel Creme Mousse, and topped with a Whisper.

So until next time.

Hi All,

Today I get to show you 2 Wedding Cakes, and 2 Mickey & Friends Cakes.  This is what I have been doing the last couple of weeks.

Mickey & Minnie along with 2 dozen Cupcakes.  I love this design, and the cake came out beautifully.  I don't know who the original cake designer was, but it really is a lovely cake.  The Number 1 on top of the Banner is really not that easy to do! Lol.  Hope you all like the cake.  The clients were over the moon!

Next I did this beautiful Wedding Cake for an existing client.  My first attempt at a Bird Cage.  Also a beautiful design which the client created on paper for me to create in cake.  Also came out so pretty.

Now there may be a bit of de ja vu on this Mickey & Friends cake.  That is because I did one very similar to this last year.  Also love this design, and can't believe it took so long for someone to ask me to do it again.  The client was extremely excited when she saw the cake.

Today I dropped off this pretty Chinese inspired cake.  (The couple are not chinese, but there Wedding theme was).  At first I was sceptical, but once done, it came out beautifully.  The client really wanted a fan on top of the cake, but we just could not find a small fan anywhere (Even in China Town!), so we stuck to the Chopsticks, Bride & Groom Fortune Cookies, and some pretty Red and Torquise flowers.

This just so happens to be the back of the cake.  So it can even be turned around to look like the front of a cake if they wished.  Lol.

Well, until next time.
Have fun

Good Afternoon All,

So today I have quite a few cakes to show, so I will get right into it.

Firstly, I recently got to design and make a special line of "Makeup" for a lovely 7yrs old.  (Her own special line of makeup).
I made the cake out to look like a dresser draw with the makeup on top, and the young girls picture (Looking like she is looking in the mirror).  The effect came out really nicely.

I made some quick yummy cupcakes which went with a Mermaid Picture cake.

It is not often I get to make a "Man Cake"  But I loved the idea of designing the cake for the young mans 21st Birthday Party.  I am especially happy over the Cake Topper.  It came out exactly like I wanted it to.

The very next day I had another 21st.  The weather played havock to the Fondant 21s, and right up till the last minute, I was trying to get them to dry again.

This past Friday, I made these really cool Cake Pops for a Baby Shower.  I loved the way they turned out with the packaging.

Although the original design is NOT mine, and I have no idea who's it is.  The cake came out so cute!

Got to make these cool Baby Shower Cupcakes as well. (Total Cake overload!)  Lol. Loved doing the faces.  Took me a little over 2 hours to do 12 Cupcake Faces!

So until next time.
Have Fun

Good Evening All,

So it has been a while since I posted some new pictures.  I am going to get right into the lot!

The first one was a bunch of cupcakes for a boy who turned 9.  Wasn't too easy, as there was no specific theme to these.  What I decided to do was do them in the Yellow & Green colors of the South African Proteas Cricket Team (As he loves cricket).

Next was a quick cake that I did for young girl turning 13.  Because the balloons were made from fondant, and quite heavy, I opted to put them on wire, plus the bonus with the wire was I could twist them to look like the balloons were floating.

As you saw previously with the Yellow & Green cupcakes, these were for the same boy, but this time with the whole Cricket theme.  I had so much fun making the Cricket Bats, Balls and Stumps for the cupcakes.  And was really happy with the way they turned out.

My daughters friend recently turned 6.  The school only allows sheet cakes to be brought in for the children, so I did an edible print picture cake with her favorite character (Although at 6, the favorite character changes on a weekly basis!  Lol).

This one was one of my favorites.  I got to design makeup!  My first try.  Loved it!.  Made the cake look a little like a Dresser with the mirror and a picture of the Birthday girl.  Really came out nicely.

These were just a quick batch of cupcakes made with pretty princessy colors.

So until next time (Hopefully you don't have to wait too long again).
Have fun!

Good Evening All,

So tonight I have quite a few cakes & cupcakes to show & tell.
A couple of weeks ago, I had to make a ton of Chocolate & Vanilla Cupcakes!  184 Cupcakes, along with 173 Tiny Red Roses.  The Red Roses were all hand made individually (No moulds in site!).  I am still suffering with pain in my hands and fingers from all the frosting. Lol

Along with the cupcakes, I made a Strawberry flavored 20cm Round wedding cake.  The design on the side was hand painted.  And the lovely Heart Topper was made by hand using fondant.  The heart Topper was a lovely idea I got out of one of the Wedding Cake Magazines that I saw and the clients loved.

I than made a cutesy little Lion cake.  I loved doing this cake, as it was the first lion figurine I got to do and was totally happy with the outcome.  And I totally love the beautiful bright colors that come with the cake.  The scroll on the board was also hand painted.

This past week I was tasked to make some Chocolate cupcakes for a 9 yrs old.  Trying to come up with a grown up yet not too grown up idea was no easy task for a boy.  Girls you can always glitter away.  9 yrs olds.  Not so much.  Lol.  I eventually decided to go with the Yellow & Green colors.  The reason.  More because the are the colors of the South African Proteas (National Cricket Team).  And since the next batch of cupcakes I was going to do for him was cricket themed, I thought it would be a good idea to get the ball rolling.

But before the Cricket cupcakes.  I made this beautifully cerise pink, black & white cake for a young girl becoming a teenager.  The cake inside:  Rainbow cake!

Then on to the cricket themed cupcakes.  I thought they came out really really nicely.  I do hope the young boy is going to love them when he sees them.

So, until next time.
Have fun

Good Evening All,

Well, as usual, I am a little late on posting pictures.  So here goes:

A couple of weeks ago, I made a Ton! of Cake Pops.  Not many bakers favorite thing to make in the world, as there is just so much that can go wrong with those nasty little balls on a stick!.

I had a request for a wedding to do Chocolate flavored Cake Pops coated in Chocolate.  Seemed simple enough.  NOT!  Cracking is a major thing, but I did manage to salvage them all by recoating for a second time.  Once they were all done though, they looked pretty awesome.
Now just to wait for the married couple to send me a picture of them on there specially made Cake Pop stand.  In the meantime, you will all have to make do with my amateur photos of them stuck in boxes.

A total of 126 was made.

Then I got to do a gorgeous little Pink & White Baptism Cake.  The name on the board was hand painted.
This really came out perfectly the way I wanted it to.  And the client was very happy.

This past weekend, I made a cake completely opposite to what I did the previous weekend.  This was for a 8 yrs old boy who really wanted a shaped Skylander cake.  The design was pretty much taken from about a million other pictures of the same design on the Internet.  But it came out a whole lot better than I imagined it would be.  And the birthday boy LOVED! it.

So until next time.

Have Fun
