Good Evening All,

Well it's been a week since my last post on the shoe. I haven't forgotten about the shoe.  Busy with Stage 3 & 4.  The weather in Cape Town is not doing me any favors.
In the meantime, here is a new cake.  Christening cake for a little girl.
Enjoy and have fun

Good Morning All,

Okay, so here is STAGE 2 of the Designer Shoe.  As you can see, I have to use whatever means and methods to keep those straps upright and rounded. So a bit of Glad Wrap, a soft sponge and a bottle of pearls (Actually I only used the bottle pearls, because they didn't fall over, and are keeping the back strap at the angle I want it).  Also in the background is another circle (Kept round by a cookie cutter). That will be for the top strap. Still can't make any touch ups as yet, as I dare not move the shoe, it is still not completely dry enough to move.  Perhaps another week, and I can put the finishing touches on the shoe. Remember, this is not a cut out mold shoe, it is a full size shoe and I had to make the templates myself.
So, until next time, have fun

Good Afternoon All,

So are you wondering what goes into the making of shoe?  Well, in some cases us cake decorators are lucky in that we have templates and specially made cutters to help us out.  But in other cases we may have to destroy one of our very expensive Nine West shoes to create our own templates.  And in this case, that is kinda what I had to do. (I did manage to save the very expensive shoe from being chopped up).
And with a lot of patience and a lot of time, we get the beginnings of a full sized high heeled designer shoe as shown below. (You may have to wait a week or two to see the final product, as it takes a while to dry, and each little section has to be made in staggered stages).  Of course, I am dying to fix up all the little imperfections, but I dare not touch it until it has dried! So in a couple of weeks time, I might just be able to show you the full shoe. Keep posted. (PS:  If baking doesn't pan out, I might have a new career in shoe making).

Have fun, till next time

Wishing all those Fathers out there a very Happy Fathers Day.  May your day be filled with the love from your children.

Hi there, me again.  Wow! two posts in one day!
Well, as promised, here is the Spiderman cake.
I think he came out pretty well, barring the spider webs! Thought I would try out the gel pen, and... well... it just didn't work nicely.  It was hard to make the webs, and the darned things dripped!
Next time I will go back to the tried and tested Royal Icing, soooo much neater.
Hope you all like the cake though.
Until next time
Have fun

Good Morning All (Or Afternoon or Evening) Wherever in the world you may be,

I have just finished baking a Banana Flavored Sponge Cake which I am hoping will turn into a really nice Spiderman Cake!  Provided of course that the image in my mind "transports" itself onto the cake the way I want it to.
Had a little extra mix left over, so I made a few cupcakes. (The cupcakes are ALL GONE!)  I couldn't keep my hands off of them they tasted so nice and fresh and soft and yummy.
Will post pictures later.

Good Afternoon All,

Although we all know that Fathers Day is just about every day. Once a year the dads across the country are given a very special day to celebrate with their families.  A day where their children can spoil them, and show them how much they really do appreciate all that Daddy has done for them.
Although both my Father and my Husbands Father have passed on, we will still be thinking of them and remembering what amazing fathers they were, and what they did to make our lives so much better. And we will celebrate their lives in our own special way.
Of course my husband will be celebrating with our daughter, and I know he is going to be spoilt on this special day.

Today I have posted some pictures of the Sugar Cookies that I am making for Fathers Day on the 17th June.  If anyone is interested in ordering, please check out the price list for the Sugar Cookies, as well as the Blue Velvet Cupcakes that I am also making for Fathers Day. Orders to be in by Wednesday 13th June.

Until next time.
Have fun
